Focus
In-depth analyses to inform and influence medium-term policy planning
The Focus series identifies and investigates pivotal policy issues for the centre-left progressive field. Its primary aim is to help understanding these issues through qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Focus policy papers are in-depth analyses delivered by researchers and experts, whose purpose is to provide a comprehensive and cogent understanding of a given phenomenon and present policy recommendations so as to influence the policy-making process, raise awareness among stakeholders and mobilize key players in the policy areas that are covered. Focus papers are published 4 times a year.
Focus papers are the core of LFIT’s research and aim at providing a forum for the analysis and elaboration of centre-left policies. To this purpose, academic conferences or panel interviews open to the public will accompany the publication of each paper.
The first number of Focus, titled “A Marshall Plan for Africa: a crucial test for the European Union’s effective multilateralism?” is expected to be published in the Fall of 2010. The launch of the paper will be followed by a discussion meeting with the author and other guests, organized by LFIT and open to the public. More information will be available from September 2010.
